Utah State Organization of Delta Kappa Gamma President
I feel it is an honor and a privilege to serve as your new President of the Utah State Organization of Delta Kappa Gamma for the next two years - 2023-2025. I am proud to represent a local, state, national, and international organization that is worldwide and promotes personal and professional growth in women educators as well as excellence in education.
I have been a member of Delta Kappa Gamma in Davis County for over twenty years and felt very honored when I was asked to join DKG. I began as a member of RHO Chapter and am now a member of Kappa Chapter after the two chapters were combined. I have served in several leadership positions in my chapters for most of the time I have been part of them. It has helped me gain confidence in myself as a leader.
Since education is the key to making the world a better place, DKG has helped me to meet others with many of the same goals as I have -- such as teaching others new things while learning new information myself at the same time. DKG is also a service organization as more experienced educators served as mentors and role models for me when I was a younger teacher. In turn, we as DKG members can help new teachers just entering the profession. We as members also provide service to schools to help them with needed things.
Scholarship money is also available to DKG members to further their education. The National and International DKG organization provides conventions with leadership training conferences to members. I hope to be able to attend these in the future.
I encourage all of our DKG members in our organization, and to those who have never been members, to join with us in this worthwhile organization. I have met many wonderful women educators and other people and made many lasting friendships that I wouldn't have now if I wasn't a member of Delta kappa Gamma. It has blessed my life and will for anyone who gets involved.
